Annual statement from employer to employee and the IRS reporting wages paid and taxes withheld during the calendar year.
Instructions
Employers must furnish W-2s to employees by January 31 and file with the Social Security Administration by January 31. Report total wages, federal income tax withheld, Social Security wages and tax, Medicare wages and tax, and state and local taxes. Include employer and employee identification numbers. If an employee did not receive their W-2, they should contact the employer, then the IRS if needed.
