Application for asylum in the United States based on persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.
Instructions
Must be filed within one year of arrival in the U.S. (exceptions apply). Provide a detailed personal declaration describing the persecution you experienced or fear. Include supporting evidence: country conditions reports, medical records, police reports, news articles, and affidavits from witnesses. Your spouse and unmarried children under 21 can be included as derivative beneficiaries. There is no filing fee. You will be scheduled for an asylum interview or, if in removal proceedings, present your case before an immigration judge.
