Form I-20 Certificate of Eligibility (Student Visa)
Certificate issued by a SEVP-certified school to a foreign student, required to apply for F-1 or M-1 student visa status.
Instructions
The I-20 is issued by the school, not USCIS. You must be accepted to a SEVP-certified institution and demonstrate sufficient financial support for your studies. Use the I-20 to apply for an F-1 or M-1 visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate. Pay the SEVIS fee ($350) before your visa interview. Keep your I-20 current — you need a new I-20 for school transfers, program changes, or OPT applications. Your DSO must update your SEVIS record for any changes.
