EPA v. Safrax Inc.
Case summary
On July 30, 2025, the EPA Headquarters issued a Stop Sale, Use, or Removal Order (SSURO) to Safrax Inc. (Safrax), ordering the company to immediately stop the sale or distribution of pesticide products that the EPA had reason to believe were being offered for sale in violation of FIFRA sections 12(a)(1)(A) and 12(a)(1)(E). These provisions make it unlawful for any person to distribute or sell pesticides that are unregistered or misbranded. The SSURO also prohibits Safrax from using, selling, offering for sale, holding for sale, shipping, or delivering for shipment the subject pesticides for any reason, unless approved by the EPA in writing. The SSURO shall remain in effect unless and until revoked, terminated, suspended, or modified in writing by the EPA.
