Case summary
Univar Solutions USA Inc. is a wholesale chemical distributor serving a number of US industries, including chemical blending, repackaging, warehousing, and distribution across the United States. Two of the violating facilities are in Providence, RI, two facilities are in Pennsylvania, and one facility is in Denver, CO. The facilities variously violated CAA 112r RMP regulations and or/the GDC and the R8 facility also failed to maintain toxic chemical release forms and records under EPCRA 313 and to make them readily available at the facility for inspection by EPA. Univar will pay $600,000 in penalties. In addition, Univar agreed to spend no less than $200,000 to implement a Supplemental Environmental Project that will provide emergency response equipment to enhance the capabilities of two fire departments: the Denver Fire Department in Colorado and the Fire Department with coverage for Bunola, Pennsylvania.
