On August September 24, 2024, EPA Region 10 finalized an Administrative Compliance Order on Consent requiring Walla Walla Foundry, Inc., to come into compliance with 40 C.F.R. Part 63 National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants. Pursuant to this Order, Walla Walla must submit initial notifications and semiannual reports under NESHAP Subpart HHHHHH (Paint Stripping and Miscellaneous Surface Coating Operations at Area Sources) and NESHAP Subpart ZZZZZ (Iron and Steel Foundries Area Sources). The notification and reporting requirements of these two NESHAPs allow EPA and other regulatory agencies to monitor and regulate facilities engaged in foundry and surface coating activities which release hazardous air pollutants.
