Case summary
On March 17, 2022, EPA Region 10 issued a Stop Sale, Use, or Removal Order (SSURO) to Winix America, Inc. (Vernon Hills, Illinois) to prohibit the further importation, distribution, and sale of unregistered and misbranded pesticides and misbranded pesticide devices in violation of Sections 12(a)(1)(A), (E) and (F) of FIFRA, 7 U.S.C. 136j(a)(1)(A), (E) and (F). The Order prohibits the further distribution and sale of more than 30 pesticides and devices. The company has been working cooperatively with the Agency to identify all violative products and has requested permission to relabel the products in the US. The Order is effective immediately and will give EPA formal control over the movement and transfer of the products.
