Case summary
On August 19, 2021, Region 10 entered into an administrative Consent Agreement and Final Order with Big Twin Diesel, LLC (BTD) for violations of Title II of the Clean Air Act. Between January 2018 and August 2020, Premier sold at least 354 parts or component that defeat or remove required emission controls on automobiles, including heavy-duty diesel vehicles and tampered with the emission control systems of at least 16 vehicles. The $11,240 penalty was reduced due to BTD?s inability to pay a larger civil penalty. This settlement is part of EPA?s National Compliance Initiative for ?Stopping Aftermarket Parts Defeat Devices for Vehicles and Engines.?
