Case summary
On January 16, Region 10 filed an administrative CAFO against Power Products Unlimited d.b.a. Diesel Power Products (DPP) for violations of Title II of the Clean Air Act. In 2017, DPP sold over 5600 defeat devices for heavy duty diesel motor vehicles which resulted in over 8 million pounds of excess emissions. This settlement is part of EPAs National Compliance Initiative for Stopping Aftermarket Parts Defeat Devices for Vehicles and Engines. DPP paid a civil penalty of $50,800 which was reduced based on the DPPs ability to pay and is no longer selling defeat devices.
