Case summary
On December 9, 2019, Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement which both initiated and concluded an administrative action against R.C. Mast, Inc., dba Spokane Automotive Services (Mast) for violations of Title II of the Clean Air Act. Mast imported an uncertified motor vehicle in October 2019. Mast imports motor vehicles from Canada for sale at auction in Washington State. The violation was identified by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers located at in Eastport, Idaho and referred to EPA requesting follow up enforcement in October 2019. Mast paid a civil penalty of $890 and submitted documentation that the vehicle was re-exported back to Canada.
