Case summary
On May 14, 2018, Region 10 placed red tags on four underground storage tanks (USTs) at the Viking Mart gas station located in Arlington, Washington because of ongoing violations. The owner/operator failed to comply with the April 12, 2018 Notice of Intent to Prohibit Deliveries. The red tags specify that it is unlawful to deliver, deposit or accept deliveries of product into the tanks. Accepting or delivering fuel into the tanks can result in civil penalties against the owner/operator and the fuel deliverer. Tampering with the red tags can result in criminal penalties. The red tags will be removed once the owner/operator has provided documentation that demonstrates the violations have been addressed.
