Case summary
On June 13, 2017, EPA Region 10 settled with MicroBasics, Inc., of Eden, Idaho for violating the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). In October 2015, the Idaho State Department of Agriculture, on behalf of EPA, conducted an inspection of MicroBasics. The subsequent EPA investigation found that MicroBasics sold unregistered pesticides, in violation of Section 12(a)(1)(A) of FIFRA, 7 U.S.C. 136j(a)(1)(A); failed to keep proper records of pesticide production, in violation of Section 12(a)(2)(B)(i) of FIFRA, 7 U.S.C. 136j(a)(2)(B)(i); and produced pesticides in an unregistered establishment, in violation of Section 12(a)(2)(L) of FIFRA, 7 U.S.C. 136j(a)(2)(L). The company agreed to pay a civil penalty of $11,200.
