Case summary

On April 30, 2013, Region 10 filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) with E. Arlen Washines, Theresa Washines, and Da Stor at Lillie’s Corner. The Washines own and operate two UIC wells located at the retail gasoline service station, Da Stor at Lillie’s Corner, in Wapato, Washington on the Yakama Indian Reservation. The injection wells are an endangerment to an underground source of drinking water because they dispose of untreated fluids collected through open drains located on the facility’s fueling pads that may contain contaminants in concentrations which exceed the maximum contaminant levels established by EPA.
