The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS) is permitted to discharge process wastewater to the Sinclair Inlet which is a part of the Puget Sound, near Bremerton, Washington. PSNS had numerous violations of its NPDES permit limits for copper. Region 10 and PSNS signed a Federal Facility Compliance Agreement. The agreement requires the shipyard to implement compliance activity measures to achieve compliance.
