Case summary
On June 13, 2012, Region 10 settled with the City of Wilder, Idaho (City) for violations of it NPDES permit at the Citys wastewater treatment facility. The City has agreed to pay a $3,100 penalty. The Citys wastewater treatment facility provides secondary treatment of wastewater prior to discharge to the Wilder Ditch Drain (tributary of the Lower Boise River). Between March 2007 and February 2012, the facility had 4778 effluent limit violations of its NPDES permit, for exceeding effluent limitations for Escherichia coli (E. coli), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS) and total residual chlorine (TRC). The City completed upgrades to their Facility to address these violations in 2011.
