Case summary
The respondent is permitted to discharge process wastewater to the Sinclair Inlet which is a part of the Puget Sound, near Bremerton, Washington. The respondent had numerous violations of its NPDES permit with the vast majority of the violations related to the copper limit. In February of 2008, a notice of violation was issued against PSNS for the violations. The subject Federal Facility Compliance Agreement (FFCA) requires the shipyard to implement certain compliance activity measures to achieve compliance.
