Case summary

This is an administrative Consent Agreement and Final Order (CA/FO) between US EPA and Schneider National, Inc. (Respondent) of Green Bay, Wisconsin for alleged violations of the Clean Air Act federally approved California State Implementation Plan Truck and Bus Regulation. Respondent violated section 2025(g) of the Truck and Bus Regulation by failing to timely install DPFs on the 150 diesel-fueled vehicles that it owned and operated in California, during 2013- 2016. Respondent violated section 2025(x)(2) of the Truck and Bus Regulation by failing to verify that each of the 1,199 motor carriers it hired between May 4, 2012 and January 15, 2016 was in compliance with the Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the matter, Respondent agreed to pay a penalty of $125,000 and will implement a $350,000 Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) for the installation of an air filtration system in at least one school in the California South Coast Air Quality Management District nonattainment area..
