This Settlement Agreement concerns the preparation and performance of an engineering evaluation and cost analysis (EE/CA) by Respondent at or in connection with the former Ruby Mines and areas to which the contamination from these mines has migrated (collectively, the Site or Ruby Mines Site ) located generally in the Smith Lake Chapter of the Navajo Nation, near Thoreau, New Mexico, and payment of Interim Response Costs and Future Response Costs incurred by EPA at or in connection with the Site. Preparation of an EE/CA is a required step in the process of developing a non-time-critical removal action for the Site.
