Case summary
This is an administrative penalty action (Complaint/Consent Agreement) to resolve violations of Clean Water Act Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plan ( SPCC Plan ) requirements by Elm Ridge Resources at three separate oil production facilities in the Navajo Nation, New Mexico. The violations are failure to maintain and implement SPCC Plans at each of the three facilities. The terms of the Consent Agreement require that Respondent pay a penalty of $40,000 for the violations. Respondent corrected the violations during pre-filing negotiations.
