EPA v. Omega Chemical Site

Case summary

EPA issues this Unilateral Administrative Order (UAO) to obtain access to Respondent's property (Skateland Building) for the purpose of assessing the level of contamination. The Omega Site was a solvents recycling facility. Contamination from this facility has migrated beyond the perimeter of the original recycling operations. Some of the contamination which is in subsurface soils has produced vapors which have entered into the Skateland Building located adjacent to the Omega recycling operation. Thus far, the owner of the Skateland property refuses to give access to EPA and the Omega Site PRPs so that EPA and the PRPs can assess the level of contamination and remediate the source soils
