Final Order No Penalty
Case summary
Region 8 Issued an Administrative Order to the Town of Granger for Violations of the Safe Drinking Water Act at the Town of Granger Public Water System (WY) - On January 20, Region 8 issued an Administrative Order (Order) under section 1414 of the SDWA to the Town of Granger, (Respondent) based on a determination that the Town of Granger Public Water System (System) of Sweetwater County, Wyoming violated EPA?s National Primary Drinking Water Regulations. The Order addressed violations identified from May 2022 to present. The violation includes failure to complete corrective action of a significant deficiency and comply with an EPA-approved corrective action plan and schedule within 120 calendar days. The Order requires the Respondents to consult with the EPA regarding action to correct significant deficiency and shall submit a proposed schedule and plan to the EPA for completion of all corrective actions. The Water Division provided the System extensive compliance assistance prior to the SDWA Enforcement Section initiating this enforcement action. The System serves approximately 25 individuals at least 60 days a year. EPA, rather than the State of Wyoming, took this action because Wyoming has not applied for primary authority to enforce the public water supply protection program.
