EPA v. Grandma's Inn
Final Order No Penalty
Case summary
On March 1, Region 8 issued an Administrative Order (Order) under section 1414 of the SDWA to Cheema Investments, LLC, and Kuldip Singh, (Respondents) based on a determination that Grandma?s Inn Public Water System (System) of Goshen County, Wyoming violated EPA?s National Primary Drinking Water Regulations. The Order addressed violations identified from December 2019 to present. The violations include failure to monitor for total coliform and nitrate. The Order requires the Respondents to monitor for total coliform monthly, monitor for nitrate within 30 days of receipt of the Order, and notify the public of these violations. The Water Division provided the System extensive compliance assistance prior to the SDWA Enforcement Section initiating this enforcement action. The System serves approximately 25 individuals at least 60 days a year. EPA, rather than the State of Wyoming, took this action because Wyoming has not applied for primary authority to enforce the public water supply protection program.
