Case summary
A Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) was observed at Brockton?s Wastewater Treatment Facility. The SSO resulted from an inoperable lift station because the power was shut-off. In addition, since June 2011, the Brockton facility has failed to submit monthly Discharge Monitoring Reports in accordance with its NPDES permit. The DMR violation continued even though compliance assistance was provided by the Environmental Protection Agency and Indian Health Service
