RESPONDENT FAILED TO TAKE MULTIPLE TYPES OF SAMPLES OF THEIR WATER SYSTEM AND FAILED TO MAKE SUCH REPORTS TO EPA AS REQUIRED THUS AFFECTING THE HEALTH AND CAUSING POTENTIAL HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS FOR THE CITIZENS THAT RELY ON THE SYSTEM'S WATER SUPPLY. The EPA was notified that water sample results collected on June 24, 2013, at the New Fork Narrows Campground Public Water System (System) had exceeded the maximum contaminant level for total coliform bacteria, and that two of the total coliform-positve samples collected were also positive for E. coli bacteria. This situation may pose an imminent and substantial health endangerment to persons served by the system. Pursuant to its authority set forth in section l431 of the Act, 42 U.S.C. ? 300i, the EPA is authorized to take actions necessary to protect human health. This Order and its requirements were necessary to ensure adequate protection of public health based on the EPA's primary enforcement responsibility under the Act at the New Fork Narrows Public Water System.
