Case summary

This case is being referred as part of the national case against Seaboard Farms, Inc. referred by Region 6. In Region 8, Seaboard has violated the CAFO regulations and the Feedlots Point Source Categorical Standards regulations by allowing ongoing seeps of animal wastewater to occur from the barns at their Farm 100. In addition, Seaboard has violated 2 Colorado permits for lagoon operations and land application of agricultural wastes by 1) not having the sampling, analysis, and land application nutrient calculation records onsite; 2) by not taking immediate action to clean up all spills and repair the seeps; 3) by failing to telephone the Division immediately and submit a written report for any spill not considered a de minimis spill; and 4) by not identifying all areas of damage to the lagoon liners and berms that needed to be reworked and graded to assure a consistent liner bas
