Case summary

On 5/27/25, EPA Region 6 issued a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) under its authority pursuant to the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) to Save 1900 Realty, LLC, located in Galveston, Texas (Save 1900 Realty). Save 1900 Realty was inspected for alleged violations of the Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) rule under TSCA. The investigation began as part of an initiative to focus on compliance with Lead-Based Paint RRP regulations for companies performing renovations on television shows. Save 1900 Realty is the general contractor featured on the show Restoring Galveston . The CAFO addresses twenty-three counts of TSCA violations that were identified during the investigation. EPA and Save 1900 Realty have agreed to settle the matter for a civil penalty of $42,500 to be paid within 30 days of the effective date of the CAFO. In addition to the civil penalty, and as part of the conditions of the CAFO, Save1900 Realty will highlight Lead-Based Paint RRP activities in three of their upcoming shows, as well as produce and disseminate on their social media platforms a 30 - 60 second video focusing on complying with the Lead-Based Paint RRP rule under TSCA.
