On December 19, 2023 EPA Region 6 issued a schedule Administrative Order under its authority pursuant to Section 309 of the Clean Water Act to the City of Tucumcari Wastewater Treatment Plant in San Juan County, New Mexico. The AO was issued in response to the city's violation of the NPDES Permit requirement to complete construction project milestones to reduce WWTP effluent limit pollutants.
