Case summary
During the week of June 27, 2022, a Final Administrative Compliance Order (AO) will be issued to Contango Resources, LLC (Respondent). On April 28, 2022, a Proposed Administrative Compliance Order (Proposed AO) was issued Contango Resources, LLC (Respondent). The Proposed AO alleges Respondent violated regulations set forth at 40 C.F.R. ?? 147.2903(b), 147.2909 and 147.2912(a) by maintaining an injection well in a manner that could allow the movement of fluid that contains contaminants into an Underground Source of Drinking Water (USDW) and by failing to successfully demonstrate mechanical integrity. This Proposed AO requires Respondent to successfully demonstrate mechanical integrity, plug the injection well or convert it to production use. Comments will be solicited for 30 days from the date of this notice.
