EPA v. River Point Water System
Case summary
On July 29, 2015 , EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) to River Point Water System (Respondent) located in Haughton, Louisiana. The AO was issued in response to violations of the Ground Water Rule. The AO requires Respondent to correct violations of the Ground Water Rule. Respondent responded to the EPA stating they would sell the property, but after several years the owner had still not closed on the sell. On May 11, 2021, EPA Region 6 issued an additional AO to address the GWR violations.
