Case summary
On September 20, 2021, EPA Region 6 issued a Stop Sale, Use, or Removal Order (SSURO) under its authority pursuant to the Federal Insecticide Fungicide and Rodenticide Act to SAN-X, LLC located in Addison, Texas. The SSURO was issued in response to violations of Section 12(a)(1)(A) of FIFRA, 7 U.S.C. Section 136j(a)(1)(A) . Pursuant to the authority of Section 13(a) of FIFRA, 7 U.S.C. Section 136k(a), SAN-X, LLC was ordered to immediately cease the sale, use, or removal of the pesticide product SAN-X Disinfectant Spray under its ownership, control, or custody, wherever such products are located, except in accordance with the provisions of this Order, or until such time that the Product is in compliance with FIFRA. On April 22, 2022, EPA Region 6 issued a Modification of the SSURO to allow SAN-X, LLC to export the pesticide product SAN-X Disinfectant Spray to Mexico with modified labels that state that the product is not registered for use in the United States.
