On September 9, 2020, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Compliance Order on Consent (AOC) under the authority of Section 113(a)(1)(A) of the Clean Air Act, 42 U.S.C. ? 7413(a)(1)(A) to Shell Chemical LP (Shell) for its Geismar plant located in Geismar, LA. The AOC was issued in response to a violation of LAC 33:III.919.B.1 of the Louisiana SIP for failing to report actual emissions in the annual emissions inventory for NOx for reporting year 2017 as to one emission source at the facility.
