Case summary
On August 13, 2019, EPA issued a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) containing the terms of an agreement in principle under its authority pursuant to Section 309 of the Clean Water Act to Ramah Water and Sanitation District (Ramah) located in the City of Ramah, New Mexico. On March 11, 2019, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Penalty Order (APO) under its authority pursuant to Section 309 of the Clean Water Act to Ramah. The APO was issued in response to violations of The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System ( NPDES )Permit that in part requires Ramah to file with EPA and the New Mexico Environment Department ( NMED ) certified Discharge Monitoring Reports ( DMRs ) of the results of specific monitoring, and Noncompliance Reports when appropriate. Ramah has not submitted DMRs from February 2017 to January 2019.
