EPA Region 6 Inspector Ms. Carol Johnson arrived at Ascension Parish (the City) City Hall at 9:00am on October 24, 2018, for an announced Pre-Assessment and inspection. Ms. Johnson met with Steven Bellelo, Parish Drainage Supervisor, Michael Enlow, Storm Water Manager and William Daniel II, Infrastructure Division Director, Mary David and Reid Nuss, LDEQ Inspectors, Alexander Sheffield, CK Associates Environmental Consultant, and several other Parish employees. Ms. Johnson informed the attendees that this was an EPA Pre-Assessment to determine compliance with the City?s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Phase II Permit and the Clean Water Act. The Pre-Assessment was conducted under the authority of the NPDES permit program, in accordance with the Federal Clean Water Act.
