Case summary

Oilfield Solutions was identified during data mining efforts preformed by Region 6 staff. Data mining revealed that Oilfield solutions was shipping extremely high quantities of hazardous waste and was claiming conditionally exempt small quantity generator status. Region 6 issued an opportunity to confer letter to Oilfield Solutions and meet with representatives from the company several times over the phone until a last in person meeting. At the conclusion of the review of Oilfield Solutions it was determined that the facility had violated several sections of RCRA to include Failure to notify accurately as to hazardous waste activity, Failure to make hazardous waste determinations, Failure to operate within stated generator status, Failure to maintain required records, Failure to comply with Land Disposal Restrictions, and the Storage of Hazardous Waste without a permit. Oilfield Solutions was ordered to pay a civil penalty and submit documentation showing the facility had returned to compliance.
