On March 30, 2018 EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 301 of the Clean Water Act, 33 U.S.C. ? 1311, to the City of Aztec (Respondent) located in Aztec, New Mexico. The AO was issued in response to National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit violations which were identified during a review of the NPDES permit file and failure to submit discharge monitoring reports to the Environmental Protection Agency, Region 6. The violations alleged are for a) exceedances of permitted effluent limitations. The AO requires Respondent to take such measures as are necessary to comply with the Permit Conditions within thirty days. Respondent must respond in writing to EPA Region 6 within thirty days of the effective date of the AO.
