Case summary

Microconsult INC Carrolton Texas: On December 21, 2017, Region 6 filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) on Microconsult INC addressing RCRA hazardous waste generator requirements. Data from a Texas treatment, storage and disposal facility indicated discrepancies in the volumes of hazardous waste shipped by Microconsult. Further investigation revealed that Microconsult failed to acquire an EPA ID number and was operating as a small quantity generator. The State is aware of the Region's data mining effort and participated in training on the data mining method. The Region notified the State of the potential violations at Microconsult and our intention to investigate and pursue enforcement before notifying the company by letter in January 2016. The CAFO requires Microconsult to certify and document compliance with requirements pertaining to notification and permitting requirements.
