On May 19, 2016, EPA Region 6 issued an AOC under its authority pursuant to CAA to TPC Group located Port Neches, TX. The AOC was issued in response to violations of the respondent failing to design and maintain a safe facility and did not taking such necessary steps to prevent accidental releases of chlorine by failing to accurately tracking preventative maintenance and repairs of routine inspections, which upon failure released chlorine to the ambient air. The AOC requires TPC Group to take corrective actions and provide documentation to Region 6 within 180 days of the effective date of the order.
