Case summary

In May 2014, EPA conducted site visits at several Treatment, Storage and Disposal facilities and obtained information on Biogene Organics, Inc. hazardous wastes that it offered for transport and treatment. During the period of May 2015, EPA conducted a further RCRA investigation and record review of Biogene Organic?s performance and operations as a generator of hazardous waste and discovered that hazardous waste was generated, accumulated, and offered for transport and disposal during 2010 ? 2013 that exceeded the conditionally exempted small quantity generator status. Biogene has operated during those periods as a small quantity generator. On March 24, 2016, a Consent Agreement and Final Order was issued to Biogene Organics to resolve the RCRA violations. Biogene Organics is Order to pay a penalty of $90,656.00 and to establish compliance with the requirements of RCRA.
