Case summary
On August 19, 2015, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Sections 308 and 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Trivestco Energy Company (Respondent) located in Blackwell, Oklahoma. The AO was issued in response to an unauthorized produced water discharge resulting in a violation of the CWA. The AO requires the Respondent to: (1)immediately cease any continued discharges of pollutants from the facility; (2) remove all pollutants from the flow path located between the facility and the discharge point of entry into the tributary; and (3) remove sufficient amounts of produced wastewater, which was discharged from the facility on or about July 7, 2015, from the tributary so that the tributary is at or below background salinity levels. Respondent must respond to EPA Region 6 within thirty days of receiving this AO.
