Case summary

On May 07,2015, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Sections 308 and 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Sinclair Operating Company, LLC (Respondent) located in El Dorado, AR. The <Enter Enforcement Action(s)> AO was issued in response to an unauthorized produced water discharge resulting a violation of the CWA. The AO requires the Respondent to: (1) Immediately cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; (2) remove all pollutants from the flow path located between the facility and the discharge point of entry into the tributary; (3) remove sufficient amounts of produced wastewater, which was discharged from the facility on or about April 7, 2015, from the tributary so that the tributary is at or below background salinity levels, (4) remove all crude oil from the tributary which was discharged from the facility on or about April 7, 2015, and (5) submit documentation in the form of certification.
