On December 2, 2014, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO under its authority pursuant to Sections 308 and 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Energy Production Company (Respondent) located in Mineola, Texas. The AO was issued in response to an unauthorized produced water discharge to a waters of the US. The AO requires the Respondent to (1) Immediately cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; and, (2) remove all pollutants from the impacted water body and all water bodies down gradient, which was discharged from the facility on or about August 28, 2014. Respondent must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of receiving this AO.
