On April 15, 2013, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 301 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Legend Natural Gas IV, L.P.(Respondent) located in Hood County, Texas. The AO was issued for an unauthorized discharge of oil field brine and producted wastewater to a water of the U.S. The AO orders Respondent to 1) cease and desist all discharges of pollutants from the facility; 2) remove all brine from the flow path located between the facility and the identified tributary of Walnut Creek; and 3) remove all brine from the tributary of Walnut Creek. Respondent must respond to EPA within thirty (30) days of receipt of the AO.
