Case summary
On November 20, 2012,EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Sections 308 and 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Vested Petroleum, Inc., located in Osage County, Oklahoma. The AO was issued in response to violation of Section 301 of the CWA. The AO requires Vested Petroleum, Inc. to: 1) Cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; 2) remove all brine from the flow path located in between the facility and the identified tributary of Birch Creek; and 3) remove all brine from the tributary of Birch Creek, located at Latitude 36� 52.730� North and Longitude 96� 13.880� West, which was discharged from the facility on or about October 17, 2012. Vested Petroleum, Inc. must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of receiving the AO.
