Case summary

On December 5, 2012, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Sections 308 and 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Petco Petroleum Corp. (Petco), located in Creek County, Oklahoma. The AO was issued in response to violations of Section 301 of the CWA. The AO requires Petco to: (1) Cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; (2) remove all brine from the flow path located in between the facility and the identified tributary of Cimarron River; and(3) remove all brine from the tributary of Cimarron River, located at Latitude 36 3.970 North and Longitude 96 34.820 West, which was discharged from the facility on or about October 16, 2012. Petco must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of reciept of the AO.
