Case summary
On July 9, 2013, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) to the Pure Utilities, LC (Respondent) in Livingston, TX. The AO was issued in response to violations of the radionuclides combined radium 226 & radium 228 and gross alpha particles maximum contaminant level (MCL). The AO requires respondent to submit to EPA: 1) a detailed plan to meet the radionuclides combined radium 226 & radium 228 and gross alpha MCL; 2) a cost analysis of the proposed plan; and 3) a construction schedule. Respondent must submit a plan to EPA Region 6 within 120 days of the issuance date of the Order.
