Case summary

On January 7, 2013, EPA Region 6 issued a Proposed Administrative Order (PAO) under its authority pursuant to Section 1421 of the Safe Drinking Water Act to Becca Oil, LLC, located in Cleveland, Oklahoma. The PAO was issued in response to the following violation: failure to maintain an injection well in a manner that prevents movement of contaminants through the well bore into underground sources of drinking water (USDWs). The AO requires Becca Oil, LLC, to complete required corrective action according to EPA regulations. Becca Oil, LLC must respond to EPA within thirty days of receipt of the PAO that they have either completed plugging of the well, converted it to production or repaired it and demonstrated mechanical integrity.
