Case summary
On July 6, 2012, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Sections 308 and 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Chaparral Energy, LLC, located in Osage County Oklahoma. The AO was issued in response to violation of Section 301 of the CWA. The AO requires Chaparral Energy, LLC to: 1) cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; 2) remove all brine from the flow path located in between the facility and the identified tributary of Hay Creek; 3) remove all brine from the tributary of Hay Creek, located at Latitude 36� 48.380� North and Longitude 96� 41.940� West, which was discharged from the facility on or about June 13, 2012; and 4) submit written certification. Chaparral Energy, LLC must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of receiving the AO.
