Case summary
On June 5, 2012, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Sections 308 and 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Chaparral Energy, LLC located in Osage County, Oklahoma. The AO was issued in response to a violation of Section 301 of the CWA. The AO requires Chaparral Energy LLC to: 1) Cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; 2) remove all brine from the flow path located in between the facility and Hay Creek; and 3) remove all brine from Hay Creek. Chaparral Energy, LLC must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of recieving the AO.
