Case summary

On June 5, 2012, EPA Region 6 issued a Cease & Desist Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Sections 308 and 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Osage Energy Resources, LLC (Osage Energy), located in Osage County, Oklahoma. The AO was issued in response to violation of Section 301 of the CWA. The AO requires Osage Energy to: 1) cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; 2) remove all brine from the flow path located in between the facility and the identified tributary of Sand Creek; and 3) remove all brine from the tributary of Sand Creek, located at Latitude 36� 42.760� North and Longitude 96� 18.500� West. Osage Energy must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of recieving the AO.
