Case summary
On June 1, 2012, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 308 and 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Quanico Oil and Gas, Inc. (Quanico) located in Union County, Arkansas. The AO was issued in response to violations of Section 301 of the CWA. The AO requires Quanico to: 1) cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; 2) remove all brine from the flow path located in between the facility and Mill Creek; and 3) remove all brine from Mill Creek, located at Latitude 33° 14.630 North and Longitude 92° 32.500 West, which were discharged from the facility on or about April 10, 2012. Quanico must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of receiving the AO.
